Creating the Facebook pixel isn’t difficult as long as you know that steps. Watch the video above or download the step by step Pixel Placer Guide here.

  1. Navigate to the ads manager section of Facebook. If you are signed in to Facebook just go to the url and put facebook.com/adsmanager or business.facebook.com/adsmanager if you are using business manager.
  2. Click the 3 lines (the hamburger) in the upper left corner of the screen and under Measure and Report > Events Manager > Pixels. Now keep in mind Facebook does have the tendency to move stuff around so just keep in mind you are after pixels.
  3. If you have not yet created a pixel you will see the option for “Get Started” or “Create a Pixel” button. Click it.
  4. Once you click you will get a pop up where you can name your pixel. The name doesn’t show anywhere else so it isn’t really a big deal what you name it. If you are managing many pages and many pixels I would name it something you can immediately recognize and know where it was placed. Enter the URL that you will be placing the pixel on as well and hit Create.
  5. Another pop-up will appear and ask you how you want to install the pixel. You can use a tool if you are using woocommerce or wordpress but in this tutorial I showed how to instal the code manually. (You can use the pixel on landing pages and other places online such as eventbrite, so knowing how to install the code manually is helpful. ) Select “Manually Install The Code”.
  6. A new pop up that says “Install Pixel Code” will appear. In section 2 copy all of the code. Now head over to your website.
  7. Some wordpress themes make it very easy to add the code to the header but most don’t have a “header section” that you can easily edit. (If you don’t have a wordpress website set up go here to set one up in 6 easy steps.) I recommend a plugin called Insert Headers and Footers by wpbeginner. To add this plugin simply go to the plugins tab and choose add new. When the library of plugins comes up simply type insert headers and footers into the search field. Install the plugin and then activate it.
  8. Once activated it will show up in the tools or setting section of your menu. Click on the plugin and paste the code into the header section. Scroll to the bottom and hit save. YOU DID IT!!!
  9. Navigate to your website and refresh it a few times. Head back over to Facebook and make sure that the pixel is working. It will show that it is active and installed.

Congratulations on placing your Facebook Pixel. I will go over more amazing things that you can do now that you have the pixel in place. Be sure to grab the step by step guide if you are having any trouble getting your pixel placed or reach out to me for help.
